At Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr we believe in partnerships. As one of the largest business law firms in Africa, the partnerships we cherish and value the most are those we have forged through time and experience with our clients, our people and our communities. We are looking for all-rounders when selecting candidate attorneys, ie candidates with good academic results and an active interest in areas outside of their studies (eg sport, university initiatives, community work, part-time work, culture).

We value integrity, a positive attitude, a willingness to embrace the firm and a commitment to contribute to a successful partnership. Our Candidate Attorneys are rotated through four different practice areas in which they are exposed to working with leading industry practitioners.

We also feel that it is important for our employees to ‘live our values’ which include respect, excellence, stewardship, integrity and teamwork.

Our Candidate Attorney programme comprises a two-year training period. Through our rotation system, our graduates have the opportunity to experience up to four practice areas during their practical vocational training. This allows our graduates to make an informed decision regarding the practice area they ultimately seek to specialise in. We recruit our Candidate Attorneys at least two years in advance of them completing their university studies. It is therefore in your best interest to submit your application before the closing date.
