FirstRand CA Training Programme

Role Purpose:

To successfully complete your three years of articles in the FirstRand CA training programme and qualify as a Chartered Accountant.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the profitability of the business through cost savings
  • Ensure deadlines and obligations are met
  • Constantly improve and maintain turn-around times of responses to  queries, reporting, and other client services
  • Focusing on tracking and meeting of goals set for rotations
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders
  • Reach the required competency levels as stipulated by SAICA on the compulsory,  elective and residual competencies
  • Continuously support effective teamwork within the department
  • Keep abreast of changes and trends in Accounting and related field
  • Identify and request relevant training interventions
  • Maintain own professional development

Qualifications and Experience:

CTA /PGDA or B.Com Honours Accounting

Quantitative Graduate Trainee

Role Purpose:

  • Work at a high level in a range of placements across the organisation, undertaking specific project work or operational delivery for the host department, developing key skills, and building organisational understanding.
  • Represent the Bank both internally and externally, to develop and maintain an understanding and awareness of relevant initiatives and challenges facing local banking authorities as well as global issues pertaining to banking, and the impact it has on Risk/Treasury.
  • Undertake training in a relevant professional qualification. (CFA, FRM, Actuarial exams, etc.)
  • Build strong professional relationships within Business units to improve cross-functional understanding and partnership working
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous personal and professional development through active participation in graduate development events and by exploring placement and employment opportunities

Qualifications and Experience:

Honours qualifications in either Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistic / Engineering or Data Science

Knowledge:

Banking regulations
SAS / Matlab /R coding experience
